How Do I Print a PDF?
Any of the Unit materials can be printed. To do this you will obviously need a printer but so lets assume you have one. To print the course materials:
- Open up the Unit you want to print.
- Click the Print button (the one highlighted in the image below) to start printing the document.
A dialogue box will open up asking you a number of questions, most of which you don’t need to really worry about at this stage.
- Click the OK button at the bottom of the Dialog box (its highlighted in the image below) and your course materials should start printing.
Cutting down on the amount of paper you use to print
If you want to be environmentally friendly you can print two pages of your course materials on a single page. The text will be smaller but no smaller than what you see in a book or magazine.
To print two pages on a single page you:
- Start off as you did before by clicking the Print button (
). - Now you’ll need to do some things in the dialog box. Look for an item called Paper Scaling (its highlighted in the image below). There is a drop down menu beside it containing a number of options. Click the arrow and select ‘Multiple Pages Per Sheet‘ from these.
- Now you need to tell your computer just how many pages you want to print on each sheet. You’ll see another item called ‘Pages per Sheet just below ‘Page Scaling’. It has another drop-down menu beside it. Select 2 from this and you are ready to print.
- To finish, click the OK button.
